University of East  London (UEL) can trace its roots back to 1892 when the newly formed County Borough of West Ham decided to establish a West Ham Technical Institute to serve the local community. The East  London region is famous for being a melting pot  for  everything that is artistic, creative and innovative and that UEL is one of the rapidly rising universities in London, it distinguishes itself by how inclusive and diverse with accepting talented students.

All its three campuses promote a contemporary state of the art method of learning; it encourages innovation and artistic expression in all its forms. All it’s studios, ateliers, and workshops are equipped with  cutting edge resources

What makes UEL unique is it’s in house supportive community, its scenic view, from its colorful dorms and efficient dorms.

Campus

UEL has three campuses, at Stratford and Docklands, the newest of which, University Square Stratford, opened in September 2013. The Barking campus was closed in 2006

Each course has it’s own specific requirements so please make sure to check the specific requirements in each program’s page

Foundation Year – Year 0

  • English Requirements: For the two semester programme, we require an overall IELTS of at least 5.5, with a 5.5 in each component.
    • Other accepted English proficiency certificates:
      • IELTS for UKVI
      • TOEFL iBT 46+
      • Pearson PTE Academic
      • Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English
      • Cambridge IGCSE

Undergraduate Year – Year 1

  • English Requirements: minimum score of 5.5 or 6 (IELTS certificates are only valid for 2 years)
    • Other accepted English proficiency certificates:
      • IELTS for UKVI
      • TOEFL iBT 46+
      • Pearson PTE Academic
      • Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English
      • Cambridge IGCSE
  • American Diploma: Grade B average (or a GPA of 3.0) in your High School Diploma or GED
    • We also ask of ONE of the following:
      • SAT One with a balanced score of 1600 (old SAT) or 1070 (new SAT)
      • ACT with a composite score of 23
      • 3 Advanced Placement (AP) Exams with grades of 3 or above
      • Please send us your SAT score reports via the College Board website: https://www.collegeboard.org/ . Our Designated Institution (DI) code is 7332 – University of East London
  • IB: The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) with a score of 25 or 26 (depending on the course). Please note some courses may require higher scores, so do please check the course page.
  • IGCSE / GCSE: We would normally expect you to have Grade 4 C in GCSE English and Maths.
    • A LEVELs: Must include passes at A2 in at least 1 subject
  • Abitur: overall mark of 3 or better (1 is the highest)
  • BAC: We accept a number of qualifications including one of the following with an overall score of 12 (satisfactory) or above:
